Goodbye youth, goodbye freedom and goodbye eyesight.
And in 6 days - hello 24/7 calls and messages, hello varicose veins and hello 40-mins of standing-up stuffiness in the MRT erryday.
I've actually been dead bored for the past hour which is great because that's the last time I'll ever feel that way for the next 50 years maybe, but terrible because WHATMIDOINGWASTINGMYLIFEI'LLNEVERGETTHISFREEDOMBACK. But everyone's out having a life this weekend so I guess I'll just have to spend more time lying on the floor with doggles to pass time.
So anyway, with this latest development in my life, I've also had to say bye to the initial USA GRAD TRIP #BITCHES (insert car emoticon) plan and basically booked tickets to Tasmania 2 weeks before the trip because time aint gonna wait for no man and there was no way in hell I was going to embark on a life journey (work) without taking a grad trip.
Tassie was undoubtedly beautiful and I thank the Gods that given my (lack of) driving skills, I
- Killed no wallaby/squirrel/i honestly dk what those are on the road
- Killed no human
- Smashed no road barrier
- Crashed no car
- Am weirdly alive
Having to travel with an unlicensed human meant that I drove ALL 7 DAYS THROUGH DAY THROUGH NIGHT THROUGH SUN THROUGH RAIN THROUGH MIST THROUGH FKING WINDING ROADS AND THROUGH STRAIGHT ROADS AND UP THE DAMN MOUNTAINS --- which was honestly the best grad present I could have given myself - the knowledge that I, mei ping chia, actually am capable of driving and not dying. Yay go me.
---
Fun facts:
- I shat throughout the plane ride (the Emirates A380 has nice toilets i recommend) becos of a v bad life decision aka spicy char kway teow at the airport canteen just before my flight
- We were the last 2 to get on the plane and were basically escorted up because we were late --- not my fault lipsticks are cheaper at DFS
---
Here I leave you with some photos and maybe an inch of a chance that someday I will return with more but I'm so lazy idk
We abandoned our plan to go to the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo for this random beach we chanced upon at Eaglehawk Neck - which is why even after 7 days of Tasmanian-ing I have not even come close to seeing a Tasmanian Devil. But no ragrets this place was beaut anyway.
